Listen Up!
About the project
We are delighted to be launching an exciting new spoken word project for Camden Primary Schools commencing in Autumn 2025.
Listen Up! is a free-spoken word programme from Wac Arts facilitated by Write2Speak poets and artists from Central School of Speech and Drama. Through a series of in-school workshops pupils will develop creative writing skills, performance techniques, and explore themes of public space, heritage and identity. The project will culminate in a final sharing for family and friends at Wac Arts, Old Town Hall, Hampstead.
The project is inspired by our beautiful home, The Old Town Hall, Hampstead which has served as a venue for key political and social events for nearly 150 years. Through equipping pupils with the skills to explore topics and issues that are important to them, the celebratory sharing will see the building used as a platform for the next generation to express themselves.

Participating Schools will receive:
- Twilight CPD Training
- Digital Resource
- 3 x 1.5hr in-school workshops
- A performance Opportunity at the Old Town Hall
- Printed Poetry Booklets
The project is available for year 5 and 6 classes from up to four local primary schools.
