CREATE, COLLABORATE & CELEBRATE
Designed to improve young people’s confidence using technology our Creative Digital Workshops offer students the opportunity to explore a wide range of creative approaches towards engaging with digital media.
Projects are led by a professional workshop leader and assistant who will support your pupils to develop their understanding of digital arts, technical skills and approaches towards creative collaboration.
Digital Art Forms: Animation, Filmmaking, Podcasting and Stop Motion.
Schools will receive
- Tailored Approach: A consultation meeting and ongoing support from the Wac Arts School and Communities Team to ensure the project responds to the interests of your school and pupils.
- Creative Project: Up to 10 hours of creative digital workshops led by a team of professional workshop leaders.
- Digital Equipment: Wac Arts will provide digital equipment and software to support the project delivery.
Pupils will
- Discover: Learn about digital art forms and explore a range of approaches towards digital creation.
- Create: Work towards creating a finished piece that will be shared as part of a celebratory exhibition/performance during the final session.
- Collaborate: Develop healthy and collaborative relationships through large and small group activities.
Visual Arts
Illuminated Worlds is a new visual art offer for schools designed to bring new artists and approaches into the classroom. Schools are able to choose from one of the workshops below which will then be adapted to meet the needs of your class.
Globe Children Wire Workshop

A practical workshop inspired by Yinka Shonibare’s Globe Children, pupils work collaboratively to capture dynamic poses, create mini maquettes and explore new materials such as wire.
Earth and Space Lantern Workshop

This vibrant workshop encourages pupils to explore the use of shape and colour in depth, drawing inspiration from the work of Henry Matisse and Yayoi Kusama. By the end of the session each pupil will create their own lantern inspired by the artist covered in the workshop.

- Extra- Curricular – Afterschool club or enrichment
We also welcome schools to bring student groups to Wac Arts at the Old Town Hall for creative engagement activities.

Films & Podcasts with Banijay
Wac Arts partnered with Banijay an international Film Company to conduct film and podcasting workshops. The day involved a fantastic exchange of skills, industry tips, and tricks. Wac Arts warmly welcomed Coulsdon Sixth Form College and Regents Hill School, providing them with inspiration to soar in the film industry.

Animation at Rosary Primary
This term Wac Arts launched a brand-new afterschool animation club for year 3 & 4 pupils at Rosary Catholic Primary School. Over the course of 10 workshops pupils explored stop motion techniques and worked together to design and film their own short animation sequences.
