Young Makers

Photography Project 2026

Thursdays 16th April – 4th June

Wac Arts is delighted to be launching a brand new photography project as part of our Young Makers digital arts series. Additionally, the project will bring together young people from Camden and the surrounding areas to explore the fundamentals of photography through weekly workshops exploring composition, lighting and personal style.

We are looking for 14–18 year olds with an interest in photography to take part in a series of weekly workshops at Wac Arts. Under the guidance of Wac Arts alumni Toby Jacobs, the group will explore the theme People, Purpose and Place through practical workshops and then curate an exhibition of their printed images at Wac Arts in June.

The project is designed so that young people can take part using either a smartphone or camera. However, if you do not have access to either but would like to take part, please contact communities@wacarts.co.uk and we will aim to source equipment for you.

Toby Jacobs is a former Wac Arts student and professional photographer. During his career he worked all over the world in the fields of advertising, corporate, music and feature film, in more recent years he has concentrated on his own personal work, which is documentary in nature. Toby got his initial training in photography at Wac Arts in the late 1980s as a teenager and is thrilled to be able to offer his experience to new photographers.
