Why choose Senior Wac Arts?
Young people who want to join further or higher education courses in dance, drama, music and media or to apply to specialist conservatoires need specialist training as well as talent. Even more experience is needed for direct entry into the performing arts and media professions.
While many schools awaken a strong interest in the creative industries, most cannot provide the specialist training in specific techniques or multi-media facilities that are needed. Some schools are unable to provide a performing arts and media curriculum meaning that young people often do not have the opportunity to see if the creative industries might be a career option for them.
Many talented young people therefore find themselves at a disadvantage when they apply to specialist further and higher education courses in the field. They lack the specific experience and skills needed to compete for places at audition and interviews. These skills are not taught in mainstream schools and are too expensive for most to learn elsewhere.
Senior Wac Arts was set up to address these problems and to give new opportunities to our young people. Thirty-five years later it is still going strong with an impressive alumni of talented individuals who have gone on to great things!
