Wac Arts is based in the Old Town Hall, a beautiful grade two listed building with a modern twist. The building houses dance and drama studios, rehearsal rooms, a theatre space, recording studio and music practise rooms, a Pilates suite, café, Aerial studio and a light and airy atrium (a lovely place to hang out between classes) all of which you will be able to use when studying on the Diploma course.

Belsize Park is in one of London’s most picturesque locations, very close to the beautiful green, open spaces of Hampstead Heath. We are two minutes from the local tube and are served by numerous local buses. There are shops, banks, cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Studying with us is extremely convenient.

Wac Arts has the buzz you’re looking for…

The Old Town Hall is a popular industry venue, always booked out by West End production companies who use our space to rehearse. Photo-shoots for the likes of Vogue Magazine, TV rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing and The Voice and much more are commonplace here!

The extras

In addition to your curriculum-based studies, we provide a range of extra activities to enrich your experience at Wac Arts.

Throughout your time with us, you will make regular trips to the theatre, and you can expect to be involved in London-wide festivals.

We run an exciting range of specialist master class sessions with visiting artistes.

Our student production of A Concrete Jungle Full of Wild Cars was sponsored to appear at the Edinburgh Festival’s famous Royal Mile. Performing to rave reviews, this was an exciting and rewarding summer activity for all Wac Arts Diploma students involved. The follow up to this success came the following Summer when our students worked with Eclipse Theatre Company to take Journeys Beyond to The Edinburgh Festival – this performance got 4-star reviews and was a life changing experience for all of the team. Currently, our students have worked and performed with Tavaziva Dance and the founder member of London Contemporary Dance Theatre, Namron Dance as part of the Talent Development Programme.

Enrichment Weekend Classes

Diploma students are welcome to continue their training on the weekend. Senior Wac Arts runs on Sundays and has classes in a variety of drama, dance and vocal styles and techniques. The Sunday programme also has a variety of media and music classes available such as music technology, a jazz band, a vocal choir, film editing and much more.

Volunteer opportunities

Wac Arts runs a range of Junior and Disability programmes for 5-26 year olds. Students are encouraged to volunteer as a support/ teaching assistant for these programmes. This has been a fantastic eye-opener for past students, helping them to discover the type of performer they want to be. It’s also a fabulous life experience that will help you in the future.

There are lots of other opportunities to get involved in the life of Wac Arts. You can gain customer service experience working on the reception desks and box office. We hold many events throughout the year at which you can steward, usher, talk to our VIP guests about your experiences and help raise the profile of the organisation. If understanding what goes on behind the scenes is more your thing then there are ample opportunities to assist with event set-ups, marketing, publicity and fundraising. There is even the chance to be a student representative.
