What is Business By Design?
We want to pair our experience and professional knowledge with the next generation. Business By Design is an immersive, multidisciplinary educational programme for young people (aged 18-20) – particularly those from under-represented backgrounds – who want to pursue careers in the creative industries, in fashion and beyond. Work experience plays a major part, alongside learning from industry experts.
No matter your creative passion, we’ll teach you about all areas of a creative business, so that you can find the career path best suited to your skills and ambitions, so that no matter where you end up, you have a holistic understanding of how things are achieved.
In light of this, you’ll be trained up in all the core functions of a creative business: Design, Buying, Marketing, Ecommerce, Graphic Design, Visual Merchandising, Sales, Finance, Merchandising, Social Media and more.
We are inviting 30 young people to join our January programme based at our Kurt Geiger headquarters in London’s design district. This first cohort will run until July 2024, with a second one following soon after.
What makes Business By Design unique to other programmes?
Business By Design is an innovative free learning programme brought to you by the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation, designed by young people for young people, to help the next generation unlock their full potential and enter the creative business industry.
It is a 7-month blended programme, pairing knowledge from creative industry experts with future young professionals, giving them the chance to be exposed to every career opportunity within a fashion business and gain in-depth business knowledge.
