Wac Arts is excited to announce that we have been successful in securing 10 places in London’s brand new Landmarks Half Marathon next March!
10 runners will take part in the 13 mile event to raise money for Wac Arts inclusive performing arts and media programmes. Wac Arts supports over 800 young people annually aged 5-25, whose circumstances might otherwise deny them access to the arts. 78% of our young people are from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds which makes LLHM a great fit. The new half marathon has an ambition to encourage runners from all back backgrounds. Our ten runners will reflect our inclusive and diverse community and will include students, staff, trustees, ambassadors, parents and tutors.
Empowering young people to change their world is our mission. Events such as The London Landmarks Half Marathon enable us to respond to the needs of young people, to work with artist tutors and encourage and invest in art forms which reflect the diversity of our young people and wider community.
Wac Arts are thrilled to be raising funds by doing this extraordinary new event with an extraordinary team.
The event is also not your average half marathon, it will celebrate London’s extraordinary culture and heritage. The 10,000 runners will pass London’s most famous landmarks, the historic figures cheering on the runners from the side lines and the quirky facts and hidden secrets which will be presented as mile markers to keep the runners momentum up.
We will be announcing our 10 runners in August and will follow their journeys from amateur runner to half marathon superstars.
