We are taking a big step to support the future of Wac Arts by holding a fundraising event on 30th October. Students from all programmes will be performing in our theatre at Wac Arts, the night should be a fantastic follow up to our 35th Birthday Party held in December.

Fundraising is not new to Wac Arts, last year, Deputy Head of Wac Arts College, Camille Curtis y Van Dyke skydived to raise funds for Wac Arts. Lula Mebrahtu – our amazing alumnus – cycled more than 400 miles to raise as much money as possible for us. Tutor Indra Ove pushed herself to the limits and surpassed her goals to raise over £1,000 whilst training for the Brighton Marathon. Head of Diploma, Martha, raised a whooping £686 by summiting the Helvellyn Mountain in the Lake District in only four and a half hours! Parents have held bake sales, students have silently marched and alumni have held music events: all to raise money for Wac Arts and enable the vibrant and impactful programmes for young people to keep running. We are so hugely thankful for these amazing efforts and the brilliant opportunities they have made happen.

For the past 35 years, thousands of young people aged 5-25 have walked through our doors to receive an arts education that no-else can provide them. With growing waiting lists and being further stretched to meet demand, we need to strengthen ourselves to enable the future we foresee for Wac Arts and for our young people. The lives our programmes have changed, the alumni – be they Oscar nominee, award-winning musicians, lawyers, writers, or business people, teachers, head teachers – give us inspiration and motivation to mentor the next generation to follow in their great footsteps.
