HRH Duke of Edinburgh at Wac Arts!

HRH visit 2Wac Arts had royalty for tea this week! His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh visited Wac Arts premises on May 26th 2015 as a part of the event hosted by London Youth. We got the privilege to share the range of work being delivered at Wac Arts for young people with His Royal Highness.

The event hosted by London Youth focused on presenting the work being done for the young people on sports development as well as inclusive and accessible opportunities being offered to the young people. His Royal Highness visited the young people in their evening classes as part of the event hosted by London Youth. The students showed off their skills in aerials, fencing, animation and lots more, and he was extremely excited to watch such positive young people doing what they love.

The evening exceeded our expectations. The guests visited our fully inclusive projects which demonstrated our innovative approach to combining the arts, sport and technology. Seeing Wac Arts activities in practice gives the best insight into what our organisation is really about and the young people were keen to explain what they were doing and what it means to be a member of the WAC Arts family. We were all impressed by the energy of HRH and his understanding of young people in today’s society.

HRH visitThe visit by The Royal Highness gave us the opportunity to demonstrate the important holistic approach we use to support young people from all different backgrounds and circumstances to reach their full potential. The involvement of our students gave them the chance to give their own perspective on youth work and offer their unique insight into the impact that Wac Arts has on their lives.

Thank you London Youth for organising this amazing event and giving the young people at Wac Arts this opportunity!
